PRP

What is PRP?

PRP, or platelet rich plasma, is an effective cosmetic procedure that treats and rejuvenates the skin by repairing the signs of aging by using your own platelet rich blood cells. PRP helps the body produce more collagen and elastin, aiding in skin restoration over time.

How is PRP performed?

PRP is a 3-step process that starts with having your blood drawn from your arm by a medical professional. The blood is then spun using a centrifuge to separate the platelets from the rest of your blood. The blood that contains the high volume of platelets is then reinjected into your skin using a small syringe. Topical aesthetic is utilized prior to the injection to help minimize pain. PRP can be utilized in two ways:

  1. Injecting PRP directly into the fine lines/wrinkles on the face.

2. PRP can be spread over the face and then used in conjunction with Microneedling.

What does PRP treat?

In the cosmetic industry, PRP is oftentimes used under the eyes, on the face and cheeks, chin, neck, hands and decolletage. PRP will help minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles over time and improve skin tone and texture. It does this by stimulating collagen production, resulting in a more radiant complexion.

How often do I need PRP?

PRP is typically performed once a month for three consecutive months, followed by maintenance sessions. Our medical professionals will help you determine a plan that is right for you.

Are there any side effects with PRP?

Because PRP consists of using your body’s own plasma, the risk of an allergic reaction is rare. Side effects of PRP may include soreness at the injection site, bruising or bleeding.
