What are dermal fillers?

Fillers are gel-like substances that are injected into the skin to help fill in facial wrinkles and provide volume, providing the skin with a smoother appearance. 

Where can filler be injected?

Filler can be injected into the nasolabial folds, also known as "smile lines." This will help minimize the appearance of lines around the mouth and give you a "softer" look.  Filler can also be injected into the cheeks to help improve the appearance of fat loss that happens with age.  This will give your cheeks more volume and make you appear younger.  If you're looking to enhance your lips, filler can help make your pout appear more full.  Filling the area under the eye can smooth out the tear troughs under the eye and minimize the appearance of dark, sunken circles.  While filler can be used in other ways, it is important to talk with our Nurse Practitioner at Refresh Med Spa about what look you are trying to achieve.

How long do fillers last?

Generally speaking, the more dense the product is and the deeper the filler is injected, the longer it will last.  While some fillers with hyaluronic acid can last between 6 to 18 months, everyone is different. 

Do fillers hurt?

While fillers can cause a pinch and may be uncomfortable, we utilize a specially designed topical anesthetic at Refresh Med Spa to minimize any discomfort during filler treatment.
