What are the side effects of microneedling?

There is minimal downtime with microneedling.  The most common side effect is skin redness that typically goes away within a few days.  Other side effects may include skin flaking, short term swelling and sensitivity to the sun.  In this case, it is important to wear SPF to protect yourself from sun exposure.

How often should I get microneedling?

At Refresh Med Spa, we recommend getting a minimum of three microneedling treatments to achieve desired results.  While everyone is different, it is important to talk to our esthetician and aesthetic nurse to determine how many treatments will help you achieve your desired goals.  If you're looking to maintain your results longer, you may want to consider treatments every three to four months.
